Name: Suiko Tokoshima
Nickname: Do NOT call her Sue! Thou will get thy arse kicked.
Gender: Female
Race: Mortal
Age: 23
Alignment: None
Human Form Description: She stands 5'3 and weighs 115 lbs. She has naturally dark chocolate hair and prussian blue eyes. Her form is a lean yet muscularly curvy dancer figure. Her muscle is packed hard from daily intense martial arts work outs along with her career as a singing and dancing young pop icon.
Personality: Suiko is generally nice to everyone. However, should a guy push too far with the hit-ons, he WILL be left in a great deal of pain. When she gets serious, she's a no-nonsense, take-no-shit-from-nobody kind of girl. She secretly dreams of taking on Angelina Jolie to see who can kick Mr. Smith's ass harder. She adores Lucy Liu, on the other hand. Due to her extreme temper, Suiko participates in Kendo and several styles of martial arts in order to teach herself not only self-defense, but also how to re-route anger into positive actions. If she's in a particularly foul mood, one will find her at a local dojo somewhere, taking her anger out on punching bags or competing in one on one tournaments with her instructors, or her friends Gary Malone and Jake Chan.
When she's not entertaining an audience with her talent with performing arts, she's using that same talent at a non-profit charity group named Sakura Foundation for the Performing Arts, first formed in Tokyo, which brings in children from mid to low and nothing income families to teach drama, music, prop art, and many other functions that make a stage performance work. They are then given the chance to perform for the public who pays a small donation fee to see the performances that range from modern to classical. Suiko's two older brothers Hikaru and Mark/Maku (twins), also put much of their time and effort into the drama center.
The two other things Suiko enjoys doing when she has time is swimming in the ocean (particularly when dolphins are present), and poking her nose into legends of the bizarre. Several times a year, she can be found hanging with a local paranormal investigation group, or out on amateur legend hunting. Of course her native Japan is full of old legends of weird stuff. However, her recent trips to study abroad for college, have brought her face to face with a few western legends.
Thanks to her rich paternal grandmother, Suiko drives a hot red convertible Toyota MR-2 Spyder which she got for her 16th birthday and considers her baby.
History: Suiko was born the youngest of four to Yosuko and Keisuke Tokoshima. Technically she has three older brothers who were born as triplets. However, they were born at a military hospital and her mother can't prove the maternal intuition that she gave birth to three boys instead of two. Hikaru and Mark/Maku are fraternal twins, though they look nearly identical anyway. Suiko is mad about the issue and spends part of her snooping time, attempting to locate her "stolen" third brother.
Suiko was a happy child growing up. Her father's family has always had money and good jobs as far back as the days of the samurai, when the family served the Shogun in Kyoto. There's no doubt that Suiko loves her mother, Yosuko, who is well known for entertaining friends with dinner parties, and also well known and loved for her most excellent cooking. However, Suiko was a daddy's girl as a child. Keisuke, as a professional and private pilot, took her for her first airplane ride, instilling in her the Thrill-type personality she has to this day. He showed her the ropes of performing on stage in her first year in school. He taught her how to swim in the ocean, how to ride waves on a boogie board, how to sing on stage, as well as the best method to use when trying to get a guy to leave her alone. The last one, of course upsets Yosuko, especially since Suiko grew talented in groin-kicking. However, she also understands that her daughter is the tiger of the family, beautiful enough to charm men into thinking she's tamable. Yosuko also has an inkling, Keisuke knew he wouldn't be there to see his little girl become a woman that every guy with straight hormones couldn't ignore.
When Suiko was six years old, her father left for one of many military exercises. Every time he left the house, he was in the practice of promising, just before he left, his little girl that he would come back. On this one trip, he made the same promise, however, it was one promise that was stolen from him. The military told the family he was killed in a flight training exercise. The family doesn't know what the true story is, except that there was alot more involved in the plane crash that killed ace pilot Keisuke Tokoshima.
Suiko, of course, took Keisuke's death the hardest. She didn't even speak for an entire year. She would stand on the beach behind their oceanfront home, and simply stare at the water. He had died out there somewhere in that water. It took her several years to return to swimming. Drama didn't come along again until she entered high school. Not through the school itself, but through the charity group Sakura Foundation who had heard about Suiko's story and invited her and her brothers to give the stage a try. Though standing on stage made her sad, she did it in memory of her father, knowing he would have been up there singing and dancing with her. Despite Suiko's trauma issues, her natural talent for the stage shined. It was the same for Hikaru who grew to love Shakespeare. Meanwhile, Maku showed his talent in playing guitar in band as well as a knack for painting stage props.
It was through Sakura Foundation that Suiko met all of the people who became her best friends, including fellow actor Jake Chan as well as recruitor Gary Malone, a half American lawyer who specialized in working in cases on the behalf of children. Though Suiko had been in Kendo classes and martial arts since she was a child, she didn't turn serious with it until she met Jake and Gary. With their help and encouragement, she earned black belt at sixteen, which has thrust her into the world of tournament fighting. Of course, Suiko has shown a great love for this sport as well. Surprisingly enough, although her brothers also took lessons, they gave up fighting to concentrate on performing arts entirely. The two brothers happily sit on the side lines with cheering their little sister on as she shows her mettle on the mat.
As Suiko matured from high school student finding new ways to soar, she has grown a backbone of steel. She has grown into one who dares to get on stage and show the world this girl can back up her siren looks with a siren voice. then afterwards, she dares to walk the darkened streets, seeking things that others don't have the guts to hunt. She started with paranormal just for kicks, only to find herself hooked in it. Now, she dares to chase down the answers to two questions her country won't answer.
Where is her lost brother? And what killed Keisuke Tokoshima?
Faults: It seems like this girl can do it all, but she can't. Memories of her father easily burst her into tears. Her temper is super easy to set off, which has gotten her in trouble at school and two occasions with the law for fighting. She easily has her bad days, which easily come at least once a month since she's a healthy thriving female. Her worst subjects in school are math and chemistry. Though her mother's American father has taught her how to speak English from the cradle, Suiko has terrible writing skills. She prefers to leave the lyrics up to people who can actually spell, let alone write. Suiko is also a comedy addict. If no one's acting like a clown, which is usually the job of her brother Hikaru, or Jake, then she's happy to be a goof herself. She's the one who's laughing loudest and talking through the entire movie at the theater. She's also the one to smuggle contraband and giggle at preachers when friends take her to Sunday Service. If you let her drive, she will purposefully drive like a maniac to try to scare the crap out you. This has gotten her several driving tickets and her licenses revoked for one year when she was 20. Then there's the whole addition to sneaking around places trying to find out things she isn't suppose to know or see.
