Note: Though these were written with many of my notes, the end credits for writing this list goes to Eyis.

(2) Rating. Though we incorporate some gothic and horror themes (not all faeries are Ms. Tinkerbelle from Peter Pan ;]) we are not a trashy forum. We are teen-friendly and for that reason we linger around a PG13 rating.
(3) Character limit. The staff don’t have a problem with how many characters you create. So long as they are your creations and you keep them fairly active and enjoy having them… who are we to put a limit on your creativity? Make as many as you like. Yet, also to note one player per court ruler positions. It isn’t fair for one person to hog all of the powerful and glamorous monarchs of the play, is it?
(4) Joining. If there is one thing we love more then pancakes, we love new members. We are happy for those who join us and our suggestion to them (a minute one) is to join with their out of character name. Second Glance is one of those places that prefer their players keeping all of their characters on one account… so make sure you name that account something you enjoy being called, yes? Yes. <3
(5) Activity. The staff want you active. Active members are the essence, spirit, backbone, epitome and every other word with the same definition - of a community. We need, as well as want, active members. We want you to talk, we want you to roleplay, we want you to enjoy yourselves and have a BLAST. Still, if you are going to be gone more then two weeks we would like for you to put up a notice. We would also like to note those who are gone for more then a month will have their characters moved to holding (where they will be reserved) for their return when and if they choose to.
(6) Media Credit.
- Pictures: Give credit to the creator(s) of your images. Stock and Share-Alikes are fine, but we'd prefer you to list where you got the stock if you are the photo-manip artist. If someone made an image for you, list their name. Failure to give credit to the artist(s), will result in warning and possible temporary ban! Get caught doing this after being warned, and you will be permanently banned.
- Crossovers: We don't mind you playing a character from a book, tv show, or the like as long as they fit in with the Second Glance game atmosphere. If you DO happen to use a "Crossover" character and/or plot, you MUST list a disclaimer giving credit to the author(s). Get caught doing this after being warned, and you will be permanently banned.
(7) Warnings. The rules are easy to follow but for those who disregard (or simply, perhaps, have a mishap) we have decided to enact the three-strike policy. Normal penalties follow this policy, where as graver conditions meet more serious punishments. Unapproved use of copyrighted material and right-reserved materials have repercussions. Dire ones. Theft isn't sweet and can earn you an immediate ban.[/size][/ul]roleplay
(2) Autoing. Also known as automatic posting for another player, this is also a big no-no. Do this and your autoed post will be DELETED and you will be added to the Warning List. (Codeword? Rainbow Bridge.)
(3) Multiple Threads. Keep your characters to one thread at a time. They may move on as long as they exit the thread (if need be you can post twice in a row to make your exit) in character, or the thread goes inactive after 2 weeks. You are allowed to return to finish the scene if the thread resumes but if it creates confusion for other characters who've moved on, you may request (in pm to admins) for the thread to be moved to the respective Flashback boards.
(4) Third Person. To keep everything flowing concisely, we request that all in-character posts be made in the third (he, she, they) person.
(5) Word requirement. We at Second Glance amuse ourselves by not being demanding and… trying to have a pretty good time. Roleplaying is about having fun… and, last we checked, forcing you to write essays and demanding perfection has no place under the heading of ‘fun’. We encourage ye folk to write, but we won’t wring your neck for writing short. All we require is every post be at least one hundred (100) words long and use decent, basic grammar and spelling. Now, that isn’t so much to ask, is it? =P
(6) OOCness in IC threads. You may list the character(s) you're playing at the top of the post, however we ask that song lyrics, poetry, and other ooc comments be kept to the footnotes of the post. This is to ensure that the in-character atmosphere stays unclogged. Failure to do this can result in a Warning.
(7) Important Character Positions. Monarchs will be appointed by audition. Potential monarchs must choose a consort running mate before they enter. The two will be entered together as a couple and a poll will then be erected for the characters of that court to vote on. Everyone in the court's region are allowed to vote since the ability of the Monarchs to manage their position will effect the very weather of their season. Thus, it will be a very taxing job on the character to hold such a position… not that it isn’t without its powerful benefits. Should one of the two monarchs go absent, the other is there to handle court affairs. Should a monarch character go absent for more than a month, then the active monarch may be free to choose a new consort. Far as other important character positions, such as those in plots, the situation with their adoption / auditions may differ so, naturally, be sure to check the announcements for any upcoming ‘important’ positions that need to be filled.
(8) Events. Events such as balls and other outstanding social affairs will have their own (temporary) forum. Be aware that these forums are, indeed, temporary and will only be visible and accessible during the duration of the event. Events may be open to all or selective, may be staff-hosted or player-hosted. If you are interested in hosting an event, contact the staff and we will walk you through the process. ;] After events, threads made in them will be moved to their respective achieves with a sub-board titled the event name.
